Women's Liberation Conference 1978, Birmingham
April 1978 to April 1978
The last ever national Women's Liberation Conference was held at Ladywood School in Birmingham on 24th - 25th April 1978. It marked the end of the possibility of a single Women's Liberation Movement.
'An end to discrimination against lesbians' was voted in as a free-standing Sixth Demand of the Women's Liberation Movement, and 'The WLM asserts a woman's right to define her own sexuality' preceeded the 7 demands.

A number of our contributors recall their role in either organising or participating the event and the repercussions of what happened that weekend.
