Coming out through feminism
January 1971 to December 1999
Many lesbians came out through their involvement in the Women's Liberation Movement / feminism.
For some this gave them the confidence to come out in a safe environment, or it opened their eyes to possibilities of relationships with women, or it was a political choice political lesbians as in Revolutionary Feminism.
