Welcome to the Gay Birmingham Remembered Project
This website records the development and history of Birmingham’s vibrant lesbian, gay and bisexual community. It features memories, images and archive materials collected from a diversity of gay men and lesbians who have lived, worked or socialized in Birmingham, whether for a few years, or all their lives, set in a wider social, political and legal context. Website constantly growing - keep revisiting!
We are still adding material to the website, which will feature many more images in the near future, so please keep revisiting. Plus, we are receiving new memories from visitors to the website. You could send us your memories and photos too! We are still tweaking some of the functionality. We are sorry that you cannot yet see dates associated with memories, but this should be coming soon. These delays are a reflection of the volume of material we have collected and the innovativeness of the site design, please bear with us and keep returning to see what has been added! If you would like us to email you when we have got the bulk of the material on please contact us, see CONTACT US.Launch event a huge success
